Effective Date: October 19, 2026. These Terms govern your download, installation, and usage of NeuroRead Pro Desktop applications on macOS and Windows.
1. Summary of Terms (TL;DR)
We believe software terms should be transparent and respectful of the user:
- You Own Your Content: You retain complete, unrestricted ownership of all PDFs, EPUBs, notes, and highlights you import.
- 3 Machine Activations: A single license key covers up to 3 personal computers simultaneously (e.g. your desktop, laptop, and work machine).
- Unconditional 30-Day Guarantee: If NeuroRead Pro does not accelerate your reading within 30 days, receive a prompt, 100% refund.
- No Lock-In or Hidden Fees: Lifetime licenses never convert to unexpected recurring charges. Export your notes anytime in standard Markdown.
2. Desktop Software License Grant
NeuroRead Pro grants you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to download, install, and execute the application binary on compatible operating systems (macOS 12+ and Windows 10/11 64-bit) in accordance with your chosen tier:
Permits non-commercial personal usage of the 4 reading workspaces and default operating system speech engines with no expiration date.
Grants perpetual, non-expiring usage of all 54 on-device neural voices, Active Recall comprehension quizzes, 1-click Obsidian Markdown export, and lifetime software updates.
3. Multi-Device Activation (3 Computers)

You may mix and match platforms (e.g., 2 Macs and 1 Windows PC) under the same key. When upgrading to a new computer, you can deactivate retired machines directly from the in-app License Management panel with one click.

Your Intellectual Property: You retain complete copyright, ownership, and intellectual property rights over all PDF, EPUB, and text files imported into NeuroRead Pro. The application does not claim any ownership rights over your documents, reading notes, or generated Markdown summaries.
User Copyright Responsibilities: You represent that you have legal authorization to read and store the documents you import into your local library in accordance with your jurisdiction's fair use and educational copyright provisions.
6. Updates, Neural Voices & Support
We continuously improve NeuroRead Pro with bug fixes, new offline neural voices, and workspace enhancements. Lifetime licenses receive all v1.x feature releases and compatibility updates without maintenance fees.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties & Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NEUROREAD PRO IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
IN NO EVENT SHALL NEUROREAD PRO OR ITS DEVELOPERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
